Being An ICT Student

Its so much fun having an ICT subject. The excitement while we learn, but what does it take to be an ICT student?
My first impression to this subject is it is great because i learn hoe to use the most favorite gadget of mine the computer. As time passes by i know that being an ICT student is hard to take. But it is not the subject that is difficult but it is the memorization that confuses me.. It is very hard for me to remember the parts that my teacher teaches so i always got a low score in every test we had.
All i know is that it will take you cleverness, and may other good qualities to be an ICT srudent.
The province of Ilocos Sur has recently celebrated its Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. This year marks the province’s 193rd year based on the Royal Decree dated February 2, 1818 separating Ilocos Sur from Ilocos Norte. Prior to this date, the stretch of Bangui in Ilocos Norte down to Luna La Union is called Ylocos which is a term to refer to the coastal inhabitants. It literally meant “from the lowlands”.
Ilocos Sur especially Vigan is branded as the Heart of Ilocandia by the Philippine Historical Committee. It’s a province very rich in culture and heritage. Kannawidan means traditions and this province got to showcase all what she has. On January 31 to February 6, 2011 several activities were lined up for the celebration.
There was the tribal performance of the cultural communities of Ilocos Sur which is so fascinating. They displayed their talents as well as their indigenous costumes. Partuat ken Patanor Trade Fair showcased the products of the province such as longanisa, bagnet, garlic, bibingka, tinubong and many other foods including handicrafts. There was even eating contests of these delicacies of Ilocos Sur as well as basi drinking contest. Traditional games were played and bingo as well. There were Sarsuela and Komedya              Ilocana which were shown. Choir competition was also held.
A battle of brains and beauty was witnessed during the Saniata ti Ilocos Sur pageant. Art exhibitions and competitions were also conducted. On the spot painting was done by the Saturday group from Manila while The Ilocandia Photographic Society put up its photography exhibit at the Archbishop’s Palace.

Overseeing Tomorrow

We can almost see ourselves standing in front of many proud parents as we graduate. The next page of our lives are unfolding. but what can we be in the near future?
My ultimate dream is that to become an engineer someday. It is all because i promised to myself when i was a child that i will be one of those engineers that i look up to. I like the things that engineers do like building structures that can be a home or an industrial complex. As an engineer the wage is very high and it is one that i like in that job because i want my family to rise from what we are right now. To repay those sacrifices that my mother made to let me study so that i can be successful one day.
No matter what will i be in the future all i know is it is the time to repay the sacrifices my mother made and make her proud someday.

Reflections

This third grading period is so great; it is full of challenges because of those activities that Ma’am Vera Cruz had given us. Her teaching style is so great she let us explore those activities with ourselves that makes us so independent.
Ma’am is a very patient teacher, she only scold us when we are already so naughty that we make her head pop out. Even if her handwriting is like chicken scratch like mine we still love her. Thank you for the fun ma’am.
As we get ready for the last grading period of this school year i expect more from my classmates and teacher.

New Years Change

Every time New Year’s comes, some people make their very own new year’s resolution. They are hoping that they will change for good, for them to celebrate the new year of their lives. But is there a new year, new me?
This new year I don’t have any of those New Year’s resolution because I don’t think that it will be granted. All I want is to change myself for good with my own little ways without the influence of other people. I would like to change those awful descriptions given to me be the people around me. I would like to prove that I am not just a naughty guy they know who is sometimes called mischief maker.
It is really hard to change but nothing is impossible when we think it is possible. One thing is for sure, that there is new me this new year.

We are Ilocano’s

We are born in to have many dialects because of the width of our world; most of us are used to our very own dialects. I am an Ilocano and there is nothing wrong about this. But are we still using it?
Because of the modernization of our country, the Philippines, there are so many people specially the rich ones that teach their young English first instead of our dialect. The result, those children will no longer know our dialect.  If this will happen we may forget our dialect in the very near future.
Our ancestors made this dialect for us to have our own and that not to rely on others. In other words, this made our history so we must not forget it.
Our dialect may not be as great as other when spoken but let us remember that we may be not here when there is no Ilocano so let’s be proud of this..

Christmas in Our Hearts

Every Christmas we the Filipinos always spend it by giving gifts to each and everyone, it is all because we believe that giving is better to receive. We also believe that this is the true essence of Christmas. But do we really understand the true essence of Christmas?
As a student, I have my point of view of the essence of Christmas in my different understanding. It is more than giving, it is more than being with our families but it is more about giving love on Christmas day. We all know that the son of the lord Jesus Christ is born in this day. He, the Lord gave his only son to come and pay for our sins because He loves us. If you still don’t understand love is the greatest gift of all so lets us remember that we are to love each other.
We may not receive so many gifts, at least we can say that there are so many people giving gifts to us, and those gifts can be simplified as one and it is called love.
